Municipality profile

Agulsky municipality is located in highland Dagestan. The residents of the settlement derive their incomes predominantly from agriculture and livestock breeding at private farms.  Pastures and hay fields are distributed among them by the municipal administration by rural public councils. There are also winter pastures on the plain. Most of the inhabitants of this municipality are of Agul nationality, a small peoples (a total of nearly 20,000) living in Dagestan at a considerable distance from the republic’s capital.

Municipal problems addressed by the project complex

The main problems of Agulsky raion include inadequate heat and water supply to municipal buildings and a high level of unemployment among the local population.
