In May 2007, projects to develop the Pravoberezhny District Municipality have been commenced in the city of Beslan. They are aimed at involving local schoolchildren, including the victims of the terrorist attack, into the active life of the city.

The staff of School # 8 has organized an environmental camp at the Ursdon Tourist Center. The first group of children and their teachers to stay at the camp worked on a environmental program. During the summer, the camp will accept another 7 groups of schoolchildren and teachers.

A summer city recreation camp was opened at School # 4. It includes an “energy-saving hobby group” whose members have joined an international energy-efficiency program that includes practical training in energy-saving techniques.   The camp is scheduled for 3 shifts, each intended for 75 students of 5th -7th grades.

The work of the City Horse Stable, a municipal institution, was resumed as a result of project activities. Schoolchildren are now being  trained in the basics of horseback riding and saddlery and in their free time, they take care of the horses and learn more about Ossetian horse raising traditions.
