FSD Advisory Committee meeting was held on June 25, 2008 in Moscow

Eleven members, representing State Institutions, Regional and Municipal authorities, NGOs, experts discussed two programs funded by USAID: Community Development Support Program (CDSP)  and  “Environment and human health in city of Nevinnomyssk” (co-funded by Russian company EuroChem) and approved in total 44 proposals in competitively selected communities. In CDSP Round 4 Program (30 funded projects for $ 560,000) each out of 10 approved community (Consortium) proposals consists of 3-4 projects, which will ensure the synergetic effect and sustainable development under CDSP mechanisms. The core projects in each Consortium are Energy Efficiency projects with estimated savings which due to the developed mechanism of funds reinvestment will help communities to build a prosperous future and civil society.

In USAID-Eurochem program (14 funded projects in 6 Consortia) the projects will contribute to sustainable development and solution of economical, social and environmental problems  of the city of Nevinnomysk (Stavropol krai).
Also Advisory Committee approved 8 proposals  for 1 200 347 rbls from Samara and  Belaya Kalitva developed under ALCOA SUSTAINABILITY AND CONSERVATION PROGRAM FOR RUSSIA funded by ALCOA Foundation.
The Goal of the Program is to support sustainable development and conservation  through educating local youth in conservation and sustainability principles.
