CDSP Round 5 applications approval for funding

The Fund for Sustainable Development Consulting Committee Working group meeting took place in Moscow on September 8, 2009. It was devoted to approval of Community Development Support Program Round 5 Application. The program is funded by USAID. Six applications were presented and approved for Funding. All of them are targeted towards modernization of infrastructure in social sphere facilities of small settlements in North Caucasus, Baikal region and RFE. They will help to improve conditions and treatment for patients infected by various diseases including one of the major current threats – tuberculosis, establish a system of TB early diagnostics. As a result social tension relief in the focus communities is anticipated due to more effective medical treatment and increased recovery rate among socially vulnerable groups of citizens.
