Male Health: Modern Aspects

Professor Galimov from the Bashkiria State Medical University in Ufa, an FSD consultant  and  research instructor of the project, said that in the framework of the planned Health Wave that will be organized by the National Health League in August 2009, the medical communities in 10 cities of the Volga River Region and St.Petersburg will become acquainted with the intermediate results of the project. The planned round table discussions and a TV bridge with six cities will make it possible for over 300 specialists to share opinions on male health. The project includes a broad public information and education effort aimed at diverse audiences and will strengthen social partnerships in the sphere of preserving male health.

Leading and young specialists in the sphere of male health have joined the Forum and exhibition of the same title and the session Male Health: Modern Aspects. They also worked together on the electronic publications of the project. Starting from March 2009, the development of an information site and electronic magazine “Male Health Culture” http://malehealth.ru has begun.

Project participants believe that the planned many-year work aimed at advertising the significance of the male role in society and nature will help form a positive image of a father and  enhance the prestige and status of fatherhood and also create conditions for overcoming the masculinity crisis in Russia.
