FSD participated in the Eight Municipal Reform Support Forum

	The Forum was devoted to the completion of the transition period of the municipal reform and the development of local self-government process in Russia in accordance with the provisions of Federal Law # 131-FZ dated October 6, 2003 “On the General Principles of Organizing Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation”. The key sponsor of the Forum – the Russian Research Center of Government and Municipal Governance (director – Svetlana Yurkova) – is one of the partners of the Fund for Sustainable Development in the implementation of its Community Development Support Program.
	The nearly 100 attendees of the Forum from various regions of Russia were federal, regional and municipal government officials and members of scientific, educational, consulting and public organizations working in the sphere of improving socio-economic management and community development in Russia.
	The executive director of the Fund for Sustainable Development, Oleg Fokin, spoke at the Forum about the progress of the Community Development Support Program. The participants in the Forum noted the growing significance of such programs and the expansion of the range of issues they address in view of the full introduction of Federal Law # 131 on January 1, 2009.
