FSD Presents Its Proposals on Community Partnership Development at the Third National Conference “Social Partnership and Civil Society Institutes Development: Regional and Municipal Experience”

This conference, held on December 12 in Moscow, was organized by the Russian Federation Ministry for Economic Development in collaboration with the Russian Federation Public Chamber Commission for Promoting Philanthropy and Improving the Legislation on NGOs,  and the Higher School of Economics State University with support from the UN Development Program and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The event was attended by over 200 participants: federal executive officials, representatives of Offices of Plenipotentiary Envoys of RF President in the regions, heads of regional and municipal administrations, entrepreneurs and NGO representatives.

RF Minister of Economic Development, A.Klepach, greeted the participants in the conference, whose presenters included, among others, L.Yakobson, first principal of the Higher School of Economics State University, Professor N.Zubarevich, director of the Regional Program of the Independent Institute of Social Politics, and S. Popov, chairperson of the RF State Duma Committee for Public Associations and Religious Organizations.

At the conference, the priorities of social partnership development and civil society mechanisms were discussed and a number of workshops were held. O.Fokin, FSD executive director, took part in one of the workshops in a discussion of the mechanisms of multi-sector interaction in the process of implementing social initiatives.

Participants from the regions cited effective practical examples of successful interaction between government and civil society organizations.

A compact disk prepared by the RF Ministry of Economic Development with summarized information on the best practices of multi-sector interaction achieved in 2008 was handed out to the participates in the conference.
