Fund for Sustainable Development received a grant from the Ford Foundation

Fund for Sustainable Development received a grant from the Ford Foundation to conduct research in the area of energy efficiency measures implementation at the municipal level for local community sustainable development. Also potential of accumulating and trade of energy credits by the municipalities in the framework of the Kyoto Protocol mechanisms will be evaluated. This project will help to identify the most attractive energy efficiency approaches from both economical and social-environmental perspectives. They may be applied for the municipal communal services enterprises, social infrastructure facilities, small and medium local businesses and other institutions. Energy savings are supposed to accumulate in special local funds and invested towards further sustainable community development. Research outcomes will help Ford Foundation to design better socio-environmental programs in Russia.
