Strengthening of FSD partnership with Russian communities in resource- and energy-saving area necessary for sustainable development

The project is implementing in cooperation with the Institute for Sustainable Development (Vermont, USA)

 The project is targeted to the provision of Russian municipalities by FSD professional consulting services on sustainable development, based on resource- and energy-saving technologies. FSD strategic development includes further transition into a sustainable Russian public institution and advocacy center on the sustainable development of local communities and municipalities in Russia. The FSD management plan includes the maintenance and enhancement of the web-site (http://www.fund-sd.ru , web-portal “Municipal” (http://www.municipal-sd.ru , e-journal (http://www.fsdejournal.ru) , dissemination of Code of Best Practices and development of Information Center for distance and face-to-face consulting, coaching and learning; further  development of a network of FSD Partner Regional Centers to promote their sustainability; support for FSD visibility as a community development institution (participation in the conferences; trainings; public debates, publication in newspapers and journals, press conferences, etc.); diversification of the funding sources; strengthening of the cooperation with government institutions and with other sectors of society, thus promoting the process of institutionalization. 

In the framework of the project FSD staff will: (1) review and analyze the modern information on environmental and community development in Russia; (2) conduct the necessary trainings of the Russian communities in the area of regional sustainable development, resource- and energy-saving, nature protection, and environmental education; (3) introduce the best practices of resource- and energy-saving on a RF at municipal level. The project will be performed in October 1, 2013 - September, 30, 2014.
