Second Phase of Amur Initiative was launched in Khabarovskiy Krai

Seven projects of the targeted grant program “Amur Initiative – Phase 2” started implementation in villages located on the banks of Amur river in Khabarovskiy Krai. This program is implemented in the framework of Community Development Support Program administered by the Fund for Sustainable Development and was designed as a cooperative activity between USAID and Khabarovskiy Krai government to provide safe and clean drinking  water for small riverside villages which suffer of using heavily polluted Amur river water. Over 18000 rural citizens sometimes for the first time in their lives will get access to the stable sources of healthy water.

Thanks to Amur initiative for the first time in the history Elabuga village citizens got access to clean and safe running water. Before they had to buy water in barrels.
