News from the Program “Youth Votes for Health!”

On a sunny autumn day, participants in the AlCOA Foundation Program “Youth Votes for Health!”  - schoolchildren, their teachers and parents – gathered on the outdoor fitness ground at the Children’s Creativity Center. In the course of the three summer months, 525 boys and girls trained under the guidance of fitness instructor Elena Kisileva and 5 employees of AlCOA Metallurg Rus Factory. Now they were here, ready to take part in the festival “Healthy School – Healthy Family”.

On a September morning, to the strains of songs about sports and health, representatives of Schools ## 2,3,4,6,9 and 10, employees of the metallurgical plant, instructors and attendees of the Children’s Creativity Center – all together nearly 200 supporters of healthily lifestyles - gathers at the fitness ground. The guests of honor greeted the participants of the festival: Natalya Borodavko, lead specialist for corporate relations at Alcoa Metallurg Rus, Elena Bondarchuk, manager at the Fund for Sustainable Development, Moscow, and Alexei Maksimenkov, deputy director of BK-Service LLC.

The interesting and versatile program of the festival included many events, such as, among others, mass dancing, songs, massages and warm-ups for the participants in sports contests, a site for those who like to draw, an intellectual contest on the use of vitamins and strength games. The most popular event was the competition “Father, Mother and I Are an Athletic Family”, in which the families of Kautovs, Kharitonovs, Khokhlovs, Denisovs and Teslenkos tried hard to win. The Denisovs family representing School # 2 became the winner. T-shirts and baseball caps with the logo of the program “Youth Votes for Health!” were handed out to children and adults. Now thanks to Alcoa Company the most athletic families of our city became the owners of stylish sports attire.

A bright component of the festival’s program was the performance of Kirill Seredin and the choreographic group Assorti of the Children’s Creativity Center (instructor - Natalya Bondarenko).

The participants and organizers of the festival “Healthy School – Healthy Family” expressed their gratitude to  sponsors – A.Maksimenkov and BK-Gidroservice LLC for clean artesian water, I. Suvorova, head of Sports Pharmacy, and O. Saluk, Pharmaservice Pharmacy.

All lovers of healthy lifestyles are invited to the outdoor fitness ground of the Children’s Creativity Center. Our healthy future depends on us.
