A workshop was held under the Community Development Support Program based on ICT (CDSP-ICT Program)

A webinar “Introduction of best community energy-saving practices” was organized on September 13, 2011 by the Fund for Sustainable Development. The participating cities included Moscow, Khabarovsk, Ulan-Ude, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod.

The main goal of the webinar was to share ideas and propose community issues in the field of energy saving that will be addressed by the projects of the first round of the CDSP-ICT Program.

The CDSP-ICT Program is aimed at supporting community development -  one of the key components of the mechanism of forming a civil society in Russia.

The Program is scheduled for April 2011-March 2014 and its priority region is the Russian Far East.

The Program will help enhance the role of civil society and citizens in regional and community decision-making. Its implementation in such areas as sustainable management of local resources, improvement of local self-government, improvement of public health and energy-efficiency will contribute to increasing life quality in the country’s cities and villages through improving social, economic and environmental conditions.

The Program will involve a broad range of partners inducing local government, NGOs and businesses.

The Program will promote sustainable community development and, thus, it is in line with the key priorities of the Russian Federation Government.

In accordance with the First Year Work Plan of the Program, the 1st competition of proposals for energy efficiency grant round has been announced.
